I might be late with this one,,, but something I nearly got stuck on was the time I landed in brissy airport... This was around 2am and only one place was open.... But for a longer rental your defo best shopping around.

 

I also may be late but have only just joined the forum so I'm trying to catch up!

We hired a car when we first arrived a year ago and I wanted to warn you that we found it was definitely a case of 'you get what you pay for'. We initially went with a dirt cheap rental from a budget hire company but it was a real mistake as the car was a clapped out wreck with no air-con or central locking and we were told we had to clean it (inside and out) before we returned it because it cost them too much due to water shortages!

After our two week rental period was up, we swapped to East Coast Rentals in the Valley - we've used them before when on holiday here and they've always been really good. Not the cheapest (but by no means the most expensive and it's cheaper the longer you book for) but the cars are decent and the staff really helpful. Best to book ahead with them though, as they get very busy with backpackers and holidaymakers.
