    We are moving to Brisbane later this year:biggrin: (was Perth but housing too dear:mad: ) and was wondering where is all the building work going on and has anyone any advice on getting a job etc. :wink:

    I wouldnt worry too much about work ,id find a nice suburb and go from there ,building is booming in most areas in and around Brisbane and you wont struggle finding a job anywere in that trade.

    Guys the reply above was posted last year (may08) before the credit crunch set in, i hate to dishearten anyone but carpenters seem to be struggling a little at the moment and jobs are in short supply. I am not saying theres no jobs but defiantely less than this time last year, it may be worth considering taking an unskilled position or handyman type work until things pick up again.
