  1. What requirements are needed when you have a car? Do they have car tax? and is car insurance similarly priced to the UK? Is it more or less expensive to run a car in QLD?

    Thanks

Car Rego is similar to UK car tax but also includes a compulsary third party insurance. It is your choice if you then get extra cover ,such as Fully comprehensive.
I have a Mitsubushi Lancer and my yearly rego is just over $500 per yr, i then choose to have an extra fully comprehensive cover which is also just over $500 pr year.
    Hope this helps

  3. oooo thats good. I pay the equiv of $2000. Do you think its worth selling my car in UK and then getting another one in QLD. Or if possible have it shipped over. I'm not sure how much that would cost. Its just that its a 7 seater and I'm not sure how much it would cost to buy one of those over there.

Shipping a car normally works out to expensive ,out of all the guys i have known look into one did it and said it was alot of hassle. Have a look at www.customs.gov.au/site/page.cfm?u=4371
as it should give you an idea of whats involved.

For 7 seaters alot of my clients buy the kia canivals , have a look on Ebay and in the trading post on line for a guide to prices, you would get an older style one for about $6/7 k the newer more reliable ones seem to start around $11,000
