Job may be taking me to Capalaba or Cleveland! Any opinions on these areas and where are the nearest beaches?

HI Colin, there are no real beaches nearby however that area is more of a bayside area. Its beautiful. You have options such as Wynnum (bit of a drive but worth a look as you'll be going against traffic), this area gives a retail/coffee seen plus parks and swimming areas, its a nice lifestyle area - its one of our favourite places to visit on weekends. Wellington Point which offers a semi beach style area but also some coffee/shopping area - this is another one of our places to visit - with kids its great. If you are working in Cleveland they have now fixed up the lighthouse area and offers a nice park area plus a cafe/takeaway fish and chips store. Its very pretty there. Capalaba is more suburban. Anyways anywhere around the bayside is beautiful and you will definitely enjoy it.

Colin,
Capalaba and Cleveland are both in Redland City --25km from Brisbane. Cleveland is close to Moreton Bay than Capalaba. Capalaba has lower housing prices than Cleveland.

nearest beaches are Gold Coast or North Stradbroke Island for surf, otherwise it's the bay which is 10 mins from Capalaba or a couple of minutes from Cleveland.

try alos Wellington Point or Alexandra Hills, Birkdale, Thorneside. depends where you are working.
