Thankyou for the welcome, so far so good, not even been here a week yet but loving it so far, very different from Adelaide!!
Getting a bit stressed about one big difference between the states though, if i can get on my soap box for a minute lol and thats the schooling system up here my little girl was due to start school in SA in July as her birthday is 2nd July, i've been told that in Qld the cut off date is June 30th with no exceptions, so she has to wait another year until she's 6 before she can start school, I find this unbelieveable, surely it's got to be a detriment to her education wise? Does anyone have any advice please?

I hope you are settling in, and getting used to QLD, but keep it quiet we dont want them all to come here..:biggrin:.

 

Nah - she will be fine and you get to keep her at home for another year. My daughter is also a July birthday and that extra year at home did her the world of good. She was ready to learn when she went to school. If she starts school too early, she'll only be 17 when she leaves school - too young to enjoy things like schoolies and Uni etc.
