I have been asked a few times about schools in Cairns so I thought I would put a few posts together and let you know which schools I think are best.
I have found that a lot of the parents tend to send their children to private schools, not because they are snobs but because the education/results is a lot better than the states schools, in fact when I was looking at the schools up here there wasn't one state school I would have been happy sending mine to. It doesnt mean that all the states schools would have been terrible, but as my eldest was starting Yr 11 I needed to make sure I got it right. I will give each primary school a rating based on NAPLAN Results and parents thoughts. 5 being excellent.

Caravonica State School Rating - 3 (a little out of the way so you would need a car, but a gorgeous little old fashioned school) good if you are looking at living in Smithfield.

As you can see there aren't many really good ones. Although Aloomba is good it is way out of the city.
