    Hi All

Well hopefully fingers crossed when we eventually sell the house and get the Visa we will be heading this way to Brisbane

Sooo guys, can anyone help me by giving advice on Buderim and Sippy Downs. I have 2 teenage boys and not sure I want to be too rural but at the same time not sure I want to live on a huge estate - Not sure about about much :err:

What is there to do around these areas? What are other areas near to these?

Anyone have info they can share with me. Also been looking on the real estate but property prices seem pretty high for what you are getting, is the real estate a true indication do you think? Or are there bargains to be had?
If anyone has any ideas on how much rental would be in this area too then that would be helpful. When looking at rental on the real estate you dont seem to see many/if any with pools.

    Thank you & Regards :cool:x

Hi Alles, No we don't have any work that way. My OH is a Refrigeration/Air-Conditioning Mechanic, no jobs lined up in Australia though so will probably start of in Brisbane then go where the work is, but got 2 teenage boys so got to make sure that they are going to be happy to!!
    Thanks for the info

    hi
most of the southern subs are great handy for everything and you can nip on and of freeway with ease and loads to do for teens.

I went to Buderim recently to do a reccy for my parents who were looking to live there. House prices vary WILDLY!! They range from the low 400K to the high 900s, depending on where you want to live. Buderim is on a hill and the higher you go , the better view you get and the higher the price. There is a great little estate called Rainforest Sanctuary that is at the bottom of the hill. The good thing is that central "Bud" is only 7k`s from the coast! How good is that! We timed it from Sinnamon Park in Brissie and it was just over an hour and 105kilometres!

Do you think you can get work near enough to there Kdal,,only reason i ask is people say the works always near Brisbane and its abit of a hike and a bloomin nightmare in rush hour ,part of the reason ive started going via Samford over the mountain is to avoid that darn highway!!!lol ,,
Jo if its only 7km to the coast that explains the property prices ,
Alles gotta agree with ya ,,south is tops, lol

Hi All, That is my worry is getting the work that way, thats why I think we will start in Brisbane then see where we can get work. We briefly visited Noosa when in Australia and Coluandra (spelt that wrong!) and they were lovely, which is what got me looking that way. UNfortunately we were on holiday and did not realise that we would one day want to live there , so did not look around with living and work eyes in!
Gold Coast way seems alot more to offer but so many people on the PIO say it is very commercialised which is what put me of as here in the UK I live in a village.
    Emmmmmm
Great to get feedback on it all though, which helps tons xx

the bottom end of the coast is nice around coolangatta ,especially on the hinterland side, southport and surfers do have the built up high rise feel but to me its a holiday place not for living in ,,too many idiots at weekends and way to busy for my liking.Gary works there and shop wise its great and obviously the beaches are out of this world ,loads of apartments though.
Have you looked on the job sites to see where the work seems to be?

    Hi

I live in Caloundra in an area called little mountain. It is full of kids who are out playing all the time but I am not sure about your childrens age group.
As for work it depends what you do. Medical jobs such as nursing are in abundance as are road building jobs etc. You can check www.seek.com.au
When you search put in queensland other in the first box and sunshine coast in the next box to find the right area.
Rental prices vary depending on number of bedrooms and bathrooms. We are in a place with 4 bedrooms and two bath + 2 living areas for $460 per week which is pretty high (we are moving in September as there are only two of us).
Sippy downs is the place where a lot of students live so I am not sure what it would be like.
    Hope this is helpful
    Good Luck

    Kama
