    Hi

We are moving from Melbourne to Brisbane after xmas - we are looking for a cabin in a holiday park for 4 weeks when we arrive. Has anyone heard of or knows someone who stayed at Brisbane Holiday Village which is on Holmead Road, Eight Mile Plaines or are there any other holiday parks that you would recommend.

    Thank you.

Someone I know stayed there last year. I think she found it ok, but for the first couple of weeks she had a family of complete bogans in the cabin next door.....they were up until all hours of the night and then the kids would be up at the crack of dawn running riot un-supervised! In the end though, once they had left I think it was fine.

    Love

Thank you for your reply Rudi. Do you know of any other holdiay parks in and around Brisbane. We will just be using it as a base so we can decide on an area, schools etc. We have never been to Brisbane so we have no idea of areas - we might even end up moving to the Sunshine Coast. Sorry Mary Ann

I don't really know of other holiday parks. There are some down on the Gold Coast, but they might be a bit far out. Try googling for the BIG4 caravan parks - there might be some of those around.

I have known a few familys who stayed at Brisbane holiday village and i havent heard any complaints yet. Regardless of where you go you could get noisy neighbours, i really wouldnt worry too much about it.

The other cabin park i know gets good feedback is Ashmore Palms on the Gold Coast.

As you are looking to stay 4 weeks ,ask for a quote on a interim cabin, they work out a little cheaper and are just as adequate inside.

    Hi Mary Ann
We migrated to Brisbane in April, and we spent just over 4 weeks at the Brisbane Holiday Village when we first got here. We found it a really good base to explore the area from (in between Gold Coast and city)and there is a great shopping centre-Garden City, with a few restaurants within walking distance too. Within Garden City there is a Medicare office and just across from the centre is the Centrelink office, which is all very handy for when you first move here and you are trying to sort everything out. There is also a really good bus station at Garden City which you can easily get to Southbank/City from if you didnt want to drive and pay parking.
In regards to the park itself, we found it great for what we wanted,we hired a 2 bed corporate cabin and the people we met seemed friendly, and the reception were really good for advice etc. The cabins had everything we needed for me,my hubby and 2 year old so I would recommend it to you!
If you have any questions, please let me know

    Hi Rach,

Thank you so much for your reply - always good to get a recommendation. It was the corporate cabin we were looking at for 4 weeks - hoping that that will give us enough time to decide on an area and school for the children. How are you enjoying Brisbane?

You could also consider this one:

    Newmarket Gardens Caravan Park

It is the closest to the CBD (4km) and situated in a nice green area. No personal experience with it though.
