I wonder if anyone could help,

I'm looking to emigrate to Brisbane mid 2009 with my wife and to kids ( if the visa finally comes through!!!!!!!)
Is the Australian economy going completely tits up like it is in the UK? I'm a printer and it is looking pretty bleak in the new year. Is there plenty of work still around or will it be a struggle? My wife is a hairdresser but only wants to work if she has to because our kids are 5 and 2.
Any info on anything about Brisbane, the usual, good areas, best schools, where I'm most likely to find work etc..... would be extremely welcome.

All the best to everyone for 2009 and have a great new year( actually, I've just realised that as I'm writing this you've only got 1 hour til midnight  !!!!!)

    Hi dave.
We hope to have our visa through in about 4 weeks approx.
We are at the moment looking @ maloolaba(not sure if spelt right).
What do u think of the housing market @ the moment in that area,is it on the up or down.We seem to get different points of view.
I dont mind as long as the prices here fall in relation to a decrease over there.
    Cheers Steve.

hiya guys , the house prices dont seem to have dropped very much but the amount of sales does seem to have slowed down a little. We dont seem to be in as much strife as the Uk , not sure if it will creep to a recession, the goverment are trying very hard to keep the economy going.
    Hope this helps a bit
    Cal x
