Hi, just wondered if anyone on this forum has settled on the sunshine coast?
Looks lovely on the internet but would be interested to know about nice cities, towns, etc.
    >t other half works in fire control, i think they call it dispatches in Oz.
I believe there are centres in southport, sunshine coast near mooloolaba (apologies for spelling!) toowoomba and then up to Townsville.
Any info on these areas greatly appreciated.
    Thanks, Judy

Toowoomba is an inland city and is situated on top of a range of hills, Its a decent size city and has excellent shopping facilities ( Woolworths, Coles, Aldi and all the major department stores). If you are after a place close to the Beach then Toowoomba would not be your choice, its around 3 hours drive to the beach and a couple of hours drive from Brisbane. The weather in Toowoomba is normally very good although it can go cold in the winter (Down to single figures with possible frosts). Toowoomba does not have the humidity that you would find in Brisbane and the coastal areas. Not sure about the other areas you mentioned, But at the moment I live 2 hours inland from Toowoomba and go there for shopping day out.

I've just moved to Sippy Downs and love it. Been coming to Mooloolaba for years now and it's my favourite beach. Love the Sunshine Coast it's a great family choice with something for everyone. Townsville is incredibly hot in summer and humid. Love the Cowboys NRL (rugby) team from there but decided not to move there due to the humidity. I lived in Gladstone/Tannum sands for years and it was sticky enough there in Summer.
never been to Toowoomba but always wanted the option of going to the beach.
