    Hi
I was hoping that someone might put us in the right direction for what area would best meet our needs.

    • We are in our early 40's and have no children so don't want to be in a area aimed at young families.
    • We have 3 dogs so would like access to nice dog walks.
    • We'd love to be within walking distance of cafes/shops/restaurants etc
We were thinking south Brisbane but not too far out as I don't want a long commute to the Logan City area.

    Looking forward to your suggestions.

    Cheers

    Hi Stef

Have a look at the Wynnum and Manly area. Lovely walks along the esplanade with the dogs and nice places to eat and drink. Not a bad drive to Logan....

Alternatively have a look at Redland Bay. It’s more rural (but still by the water) than the other area I suggested, so great for the dogs, but maybe less in terms of cafes and shops for you. It’s a quick and pleasant drive to Logan from there.
BTW, you are only allowed 2 dogs in a lot of areas up here......so keep quiet about the third!!!!
    Love

Thanks for the info, I will be looking at those suburbs on realestate, and thanks for mentioning the dog thing, I'll have to check that out. Here you have to have a kennel licence if you have more than two.

I am not sure of the rules in all areas, but I think in the Redlands Shire (Redland Bay falls in that council area) you can apply to have an extra dog. Not sure what the critera are though.

    Hiya Stef

We are on the outskirts of Logan City, it takes about 25 mins to get into the centre from here. Near enough to use the ammentites yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle.

Have a look at areas like Greenbank, New Beith, Cedar Grove, Mundoolun all are lovely semi rural areas within easy commuting of LC. Most properties are on quarter acre plots or bigger so ideal for dogs and of course are only a stone throws from Tamborine mountain and Beaudesert where you can walk for hours.

    Hope this helps a little

    Hi,
I would suggest bribie Island, parts of it can be full of tourists in the summer, but other parts are quiet and ideal to walk dogs. (but i am biased i love Bribie)

here is a link to the local council web page about pets and the local laws, that you may find helpful

    Hope the link helps.

I think travelling to Logan centre for work would be too much from Bribie Colin, even with the new highway changes its still a bloomin nightmare especially at rush hour.
