    Hi
We have been in Brisbane for a year, living in the city. We are moving to the Bayside area in December. My boys, my hubby and me are looking for new friends! We would appreciate any info on groups or family oriented clubs..
My sons love football/soccer or any sports, are there any teams/grps that run over the summer?
Can't wait to get to Wynnum, it looks really nice, apparently there are lots of brits down in the Bayside. I love the Aussies but its good to meet people who have things in common i.e living on the otherside of the world with no family, no old school friends....
    Thanks

    Hi ....

We are in manly and so will be neighbours practically! I have a 9 year old and we all love this area. There are indeed loads of Brits down here and there are regular meet-ups with different groups - both large and small. I think Wynnum has a children's rugby league team - people have told me it's pretty huge down here but my son's not interested in that so I'm not too sure. I do know though that there's a PCYC here with trampolining and gymnastics and also a holiday club (in Lota, which is very close). There's also huge amounts to do on the water - with sail and Play days over the holidays. There are Sea scouts and cub groups too. Please pm me if you want any more info!

    Hi Gill

I'm not far away in Thornlands and always good for a cuppa and a chin-wag  ......as Myrtle has discovered!

I have 3 girls. There's lots of clubs etc in the area and there's usually something going on at the esplanade in Manly - outdoor movies, street parades etc etc. It's a very community based area.

    Take care

    Love

    Hey Mytrtle
Thanks for the info, i will defenatly look in to the holiday club. After 2 weeks of his bored wee face over the October break and the continuos.. Where we going?? I v'e found it quite hard in the city because most of the kids in his school commute with thier parents so there are no kids to play with in the neighbourhood!
Can't wait to get there, iv'e been looking at rental so much more for your $.
The PCYC's are good here, there might be some stuff going on for shorty!
Is there any areas to avoid, down that way??
    Thanks Gill x

    Hey Rudi
Thanks for your reply! Glad your having fun. Wev'e not been down as far as Thornlands, we have only been down to Birkdale, where we found the British chippy, we reckoned we didn't need to go any further than that!! Oh I love it , its becoming a regular fri night trip, chippy at Birkdale then down to Wellington point to watch the sunset, perfect!
Were going to the Halloween parade, in Manly. Should be fun!
    Thanks again

    Hi Gill ...

There's so much to do down here - my son just has the prob of fitting it all in! The parks and waterfront areas
Of Wynnum and Manly always attract loads of children on weekends and there's a great family vibe. Have you got schools sorted for the boys? If you are searching out rentals .... I am happy to do a drive past and give you an opinion on the street/area - I am always out and about ferrying my son to some group or another!
