We're Here! Hi again! Sorry it's taken a while to reply, we spent a few weeks travelling after we landed in Brisbane on 23rd June. We were planning (and booked) various stops all the way down to Sydney but crossed the border and Nick (hubby) was offered a job on the Gold Coast so we double backed and have spent a manic few days before he started work to find a rental and furnish it!!! We've bought the big furniture here as we didn't ship any of that over but our personal bits and bobs won't get here until end of August/beginning of September, and the cat hasn't even left the UK yet!! I'm trying hard to coax the neighbours 1 eyed cat inside our house but it's not having it! Ha ha! Luckily though all the main bits (car, driving licence, medicare, health insurance, tfn blah blah blah) is all done now and we are "LOVING" it so far. We're renting in Arundel as it's only 20 mins for Nick to get to work and still fairly close to water / shops etc. I'm not working yet but I'm an Early Years Teacher and I keep being told I should get work, as a relief teacher or in the ABC centres. We're not too worried about my work at the mo though as Nick's job is enough for now, although 40% tax is a bit harsh!!! Anyway, we now have internet at home so no more trapsing round to find the internet cafes so any future meet ups we'd love to hear about them. xx
